I have been looking for information on the subject of parallax in NV scopes. Does parallax occur to any degree when I sight through the viewing screen of my X-Sight II? I seem to remember reading that NV scopes do not present [serious] problems in parallax, but I cannot find the article.
The reason I ask is that the point of impact changed - up 3/4 of an inch @ 100 yards and slightly right - after I added several mils more height and width to the foam rubber cheek pad I have on my Weihrauch HW60J .222 Rem rifle which has a hogsback stock, hence the need to use a cheek riser with the high mounted sight. Otherwise my shooting position, table and rest were all identical. My 5 shot grouping was tight in itself: three overlapping holes and two very close in the target face [the group itself measured just under 3/4"], but not where I expected the shots to group as per my previous daylight shooting session.
I suspect that my head position changed just enough with the addition to the riser pad to lead to the different POI and that suggests that there might be a slight parallax effect???
Any guidance would be appreciated,
A further thought: in changing my head position ever-so-slightly I may have changed my hold on the rifle and where I placed the butt on my shoulder thus effecting my POA or both?

I don't think at the ranges we are shooting these, nor are your targets so critical as to require that information for a clean servicing of the target. I have been able to fire mine successfully at a given target using my phone.....you really don't have to worry if you've taking the time to fine tune the single-shot targeting. If you are steady, these things are ultra-easy to make good shots.
