Downloaded and installed the current version of firmware for my new Thor 4 640x480 1-10x and it went from bad to worse. Newest firmware causes the scope to freeze constantly with less than a minute of use. Only solution is to perform a hard reset on the device. Wish I would never have installed it. Got the scope last month and the factory firmware performed much better although it wasn't without flaws. Does anyone have an older, more stable version out there? Can you install older firmware versions over newer?
I am less than satisfied with this scope. ATN customer support is non-existent.

I am sure I have the latest two. Do you know what version was on it previously?
You can rename an old file to a new file number and get it to update to the old stuff.
Example; new firmware is 3.3.05.357. Take the next one down, 3.3.03.330 and name it 3.3.05.358 and put it on the card. Go through the install and it will eventually show 3.3.03.330 in the system settings.
But, just in case, did you go through the factory reset afterwards and select which scope you had?
Edited to add. Updated my 1.5-5x and did all of the BS they require. Walked around the house with it powered up for 10 minutes or so and didn't have any lock ups, but I wasn't doing anything with it other than looking at the view screen. Sounds like a good excuse to go out and do some hunting this weekend.

The factory reset won't take it back to original, but it is part of the update instructions.
I know it all the way down there at step 9, but it is there.
One thing it doesn't tell you is to go back in after the factory reset and select what scope type you have.
You also need to re-zero the scope, so it would have been nice for them to include how to export your settings before the update and import after. Luckily, covered on this forum a bunch....for next time.
UPDATE: So I downloaded the older firmware version thanks to number40fan and installed it on my scope. I followed the procedures prescribed by ATN. It worked and reverted the firmware back to 3.3.03.330. After that, I downloaded version 3.3.05.357 from the ATN website and followed the firmware install process again. I performed a factory reset after each install. I have power cycled the scope 4 times and it has frozen during use twice. First time within a minute of use, second time after 5 min of use. This is better than before although I'm still not convinced I will keep the latest version installed.
I'm going to give it a hunt or two before I decide whether or not to revert back to the older version. I can tell a difference in picture quality on the current version so I would like to keep it installed.
I've had the scope for just over a month now. This has definitely been a learning experience! I'm certainly going to archive each firmware release and even write down how each version performs in case I run into this problem in the future and need to revert back to a previous version of firmware again.
I appreciate everyone's help on this forum! It's sad that this whole time, I've never been able to get a hold of ATN or have them return my messages! If it wasn't for this community, I'd almost certainly be stuck with a paperweight until the ATN firmware release!

Use it in the house works good go outside and it freezes constantly has anyone tried doing the old update this happened right after my first update I am currently at 3.3.0 8.430 update ATN has been anything but helpful On getting this fixed They stopped answering my calls they stopped answering emails they’ve had the scope four times in the last four months they won’t send me a new one and they won’t fix the problem they keep it for about 4 to 8 weeks send it back to me and It freezes right out of the box please help I don’t wanna be stuck with a $4500 paperweight

jvm: what settings have you found to work best for being able to actually see anything using the zoom? if I zoom much past 3x it is just blurry. was just looking at a deer at 50 yards and could barely make it out
