I have a Windows 10 machine with a extra big screen, 36” maybe? Not really portable, some would say. I do have an iPhone 6s and have used it with the scope. Screen on it really isn’t that big, it works. However with it being a phone, people seem to know when I’m using it to do something else. I get calls. I really don’t want to buy another computer tablet when a monitor would work fine, plus they’re cheaper. So there you have it, that’s why I’m looking for an hdmi monitor. From the response I’m guessing no one uses a monitor with their scope here.
Looking into a Lillyput 7" 1080p monitor. A little pricey. Couple of large. But you get what you pay for. Most of the time. Seems to have all the bells and whistles. Problem is the scope viewing monitor shuts down when using the HDMI output. Can't do both. One or the other. Scope or the monitor. Would like to be able to hook a monitor up to it and still use the scope. Far better resolution than the obsidian app. Might figure that out one day. If someone has already figured that out, I haven't found the thread. I do have the obsidian app. Just not the same. And there is an inherent latency between the scope and the app. Might be 3~4 miliseconds or more. Could feasibly miss a shot if using the app for tracking movement and shot placement. Probably a bad idea anyway. Have noticed that sometimes taking a photo with the phone, if it's moving, the subject is already actually leaving the frame by the time the picture is taken. When hunting, I use the scope only. Recon would be easier with a small monitor. Save me from getting 'scope blinded' at nite.
